|
|
Today I had just gotten out of the shower when someone rang my doorbell. I looked at the camera thing and it was some guy I didn't know. I yelled out "wait just a minute!" (even though I know he didn't really understand) and started getting dressed. So anyways, when I was half dressed he opened the door himself. I was kind of annoyed but then I realized he may have thought I was telling him to come in.
Anyways, a woman appeared next to him holding a large metal can with a rubber tube attached to it. They seemed to be from building management and had just been next door, doing something with the metal can. It smelled like paint in the hallway. They started talking to me in Korean, and I just shook my head and said "mo-la-yo", and they eventually went away.
So, what was in the metal can and why did they want to come in? None of the walls are painted (it's wallpapered) so I don't think they wanted to paint, but I really had no idea what was going on at all. |

hmmm
Sounds like the friendly neighbourhood bong club recruiting for members again. Don't worry about it. They were offering you a toke of hanguk head. Just say no if it ain't yer thang. They're a pretty chirpy bunch, so if they come-a-callin' again & ya wanna get rid of 'em, zap 'em with some death metal or somethin' like that. When they're around, do not play trot music whatever ya do

I basically never answer my door. Most of the time it's some moron who slaps a take out food ad on my door and rings the door bell so I'll get his helpful ad right away. Another problem is there's a B building and an A building. I live in B. I think the guy in the same apartment as me but A version runs a business. I'm always getting deliveries for A. |

Oops...I told some mormons that you were coming and to pay you a visit. That might have been them.

If she would have stood there in the buff, the lady would have ran and the guy would have sat down in a chair, lit up a smoke and started staring. Oh yeah, I forgot that I was in Korea. The lady would have lit up a smoke and stared, too. |

Haha, yeah, she came to my door too. Was she wearing a white 'lab coat' and a white mask over her nose and mouth? I've seen the same lady out dousing the apartment dumpster and vegetable/meat/other organics 'recycling' bin so I knew what she had in mind; kill kill kill. Not in my hovel you don't. Fine ecosystem underway, thanks, do not disturb, and off she went to kill elsewhere. Freak. |

I can't belive I didn't think of that--they were almost definitely spraying for bugs. The weird thing was the woman was in a nice outfit like you'd wear to an office, she didn't look like a maintenance person....The dude had a big ring of keys, so they were certainly building management people, but whatever...I like all the other ideas...neighborhood bong patrol? sex service? mormons? I just hope that those are not all the same person. This town is so small it wouldn't surprise me.
I would have been happy to see the Mormons, but seeing as these would have been Korean Mormons, they would have been confused as to why I was giving them such a warm reception, unless they spoke English that is |

I remember one time when the mormons rang on my door. I just kept yammering away in English until they went away.
About an hour later a cute girl arrived. I'm always friendly to cute young ladies. She told me that she was from the same mormon church as the previous group. They sent her because she could speak English. |

They were the bug people.
A man or woman will also come around every 3 months or so and check your gas line.
Don't say no to them. They are persistent, and it's smart to let them check. Takes a quick minute. |
