Have you got the new Windows XP SP2? It has a lot of security updates, right? |

Downloaded, installed...no big deal.
Most of the changes are behind the scenes anyways, so one wouldn't really notice. The security is much improved...this is about the only discernable difference. The security center is in the system tray, and the firewall is active by default. I am running the firewall in concert with ZA pro, and have no problems at all.
I guess it's a must-have, as long as your copy of windows is legit. I have no idea about hacked/cracked copies or what one may have to do to get this SP2 to install, as my copy is legit.
If your copy of WinXP isn't legit, you'd best just wait until all of the probable headaches get sorted and all of the workarounds become availiable.

Depending on your system speed and how many actual updates the SP has to install, time can be from 10 minutes to an hour. Mine was the former...very easy. |

I especially like their improvements to the firewall. It's still a little primitive, however, it is a lot better than the old one. I like that it is able to give programme alerts and give notifications on your connection.
I noticed that a pop-up blocker was added to ie as well.
These are a few, slight, steps in the right direction. |

Dude, there are a bunch of ways for you to get SP2 with your copy of XP...you gotta get the XP serial number changer and follow that guide...it will let you put a clean serial into XP.
Then do a slipstream install from a full download of SP2 using a clean serial, not the windows update one, but the full deal from the link I gave above.
If you choose the program "nLite" you can make an ISO of your WinXP disc, with SP2 slipstreamed into it, plus there are many options for the ISO, such as a full, unattended installation. The benefit here is that for an unattended install, you must enter the serial (a clean, new one made with the serial number changer program) into the nLite program, which will in turn, make this serial part of the ISO....when you go to install WinXP using your new, SP2-included disc you burned from the ISO made with nLite, the new, clean serial will be used for the install.
I hope you can understand this....right now, even I am confused.
Download nLite and the XP serial number changer. Follow the guides for both programs located on their respective websites, then re-read what I wrote. I think it will make sense.....I hope!
I don't have a link for the XP serial number thing....sorry. nLite is here:
