When I open DreamSuite in Photoshop and then open the presets the preset preview window opens halfway off the top of the screen. I can't see the examples and I can't drag the bastard down because the mouse won't go off the top the screen.
I'm running two monitors so I can stack number 2 over number 1 and then drag it down, but I have do that every fucking time and it's getting old.
My questions:
Can you control where a new window will open (so the bastard doesn't open halfway off the top of the display)
Can you move a window without the mouse (actually, I can move normal windows without the mouse but not the Dream fucking Suite preset window).
Thanks |

I don't know if this would do the job but, I noticed that if you right click an icon from you start menu or desktop, and go to 'properties', you can select a run mode. Perhaps you could try selecting 'minimized' there and then when it starts, you could drag down that window (sometimes windows remembers window positions when you close out so, try closing out and restarting the programme again.)
I have no clue if this will help you but, it was just a thought.
I know you can also set windows to start programmes in different parts of your window as well, like aligned to the top left corner, for example. However, I can't remember where I saw this option, I will look into it.
Good luck. |

I think hitting one of the function keys (or is it TAB?) lets you cycle between windows. Once you get there, you can arrow through the menus. I think that you the window will default to the last place you had it set at when you closed it? If you can change it and close it from a different location, I think it will be ok? |

You are talking about ALT+TAB and this only works with WinXP as far as I know. You can also download the WinXP Powertool from the Microsoft website to enhance this and give you a thumbnail of each open app. |

ALT+tab has been a standard function in Windows since the Win 3.1 days. |

Quite right and thanks for contributing to my ongoing education . I didn't know about that function when using Win98 before XP but came late to it once I had the latter. To check yesterday, I tried it on this Win98 machine I'm on at the mo. It didn't work. But then that was cos I only had one window (browser) open.
