I'm looking for someone to skate with on the weekends in Seoul. I've seen some really good skateparks, but skating alone is only so fun. Anyone there? |

Are the skateparks in Korea well inhabited? Empty?
Or are they full of fruitbooters?

Another skater here. I usually skate with the locals here in Suwon but need to hit new spots. I'm always up for skating. |

i skate but due to recent injuries i take it really easy. i'd be into checking out the yongsan family fun park. i usually keep it to miniramp and booting around the sidewalks, but sidewalks here are made out of AIDS so i steer clear. i really haven't skated at all since i got here and it sucks.
i have my street/miniramp board and i just acquired a sweet longboard for hitting the hangang bike/fruitboot trails. who's in? |

I haven't seen that. I'll check it out. I also saw this amazing skatepark along the river, but I was on the bus so I'm sure that I'll have a hard time finding it. Does anyone know what I'm talking about?
By the way, anyone who wants to go skate, just PM me and we can hit up one of these parks. I haven't gone out since I left California. |

Check out www.flateen.com.
Click on the map of Korea and then on the coloured dots for info on skateparks, spots and shops.
I know a bunch of the parks although I typically stick to the street spots.
Just a note, a lot of the parks want you in a helmet.
Sorry - should mention that the site is in Korean. Good info though. |

funny how you call it fruitbooting when you can prolly barely do a kickflip. skateboarding is so trendy its ridiculous. i love it when people just cary their boards around and dont actually skate. plus their board isnt even scuffed up so you really know they are a poser.
all i know is rollerbladers are doing crazy ass tricks that you wood pushers will never even come close too (grinding rails with 40 foot dropoffs, 720's into tricks and 900's off of them, grinding up rails). you guys are just part of the big trend of skateboarding. i cant wait till i come to korea and kick the ass of any skateboarder that disrespects me for rollerblading. |
Yeah, your post pretty much sums up the die-hard attitude of the most retarded of fruitbooters. Did you know that you jagoffs bit every single trick off skateboarding and managed to make each move as gay as possible? I can't wait until you come to Korea, either. You'll fit right in with the stylish dudes in pink shirts. |

Heh.. :)
I tend to view the rivalry between rollerbladers and skateboarders as more of a healthy thing which pushes each respective group to go better and faster than each other.
I guess if you were offended by the term "fruitbooter" then I'll apologise.. but it looks like you're being waaaaay too defensive. It's not as if skaters don't cop their own fair share of abuse from people either.
As for skateboarding being trendy.. you're probably right. I don't see how that makes it any less acceptable than any other form of sport, especially rollerblading. I hope you're not one of those people who suddenly stops liking a certain band just because they become popular.. :)
Hope you have fun skating in Korea though.. you'll blend right in with the far greater percentage of rollerbladers than skaters who ply their trade. :)
Good luck!
