even though i've talked a BUNCH of shit about kpop on this board i find myself slowly cultivating an affinity for a few of the songs i hear.

i ask my students which songs they are, and i try to sing them in class... and i get laughed at like i'm wearing women's clothing or something.

anyways, i'm buying a computer next week some time and i am wondering if anyone out there can tell me a few of the titles of some of the more ubiquitous kpop tunes out there... yes, so i can download them and listen to them.

oh yeah and i was in a club last night - mc mong came on and people went bananas. it was good.

Kpop is identical to American pop music in that most of it is craptastic. But many winners can be found if one looks around for them. Lee Jung Hyng, Baek Ji Young, Chae Young, Kim Hyung Jung, BoA, etc.

That's wrong. Pop music from any country is craptastic

I agree with ya gord, there are some that stand out, and are really good pieces of work. No different than any other country.

credibility, schmedibility. some Kpop songs grow on you like herpes. it just happens. it's still extremely vacuous pap, but, uh, i like death metal that is as lacking in substance as mc mong.

While the CD said "Lee Jung Hyun" on the cover, that was actually her less-talented sister. That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.

Oh Lee Jung Hyun, why did you fail me?
