Hey all. I'm new here. I joined because I'm looking for advice... Confused I've been teaching in Korea for 4 years. Three years at hagwon, and one at university. I really enjoy teaching in Korea, and I plan on living here long-term. Smile
I was recently married to a lady in China. She has been an English instructor at a university there for about 8 years. She also has qualifications to teach Chinese. She has won awards for her teaching skills and publications. She is highly qualified... Razz
Now that we're married, she wants to come to work in Korea so that we can be together. Recently, I've seen articles in the Korea Herald saying that the number of Chinese language learners in Korea are increasing. I thought that I'd have no problems finding employment for her. However, after I checked the internet using Google and Yahoo using several variations of the search string "teach Chinese in Korea", all I came up with were English teaching jobs in China... Crying or Very sad
Does anyone out there know of any jobs for Chinese teachers in Korea, or have any ideas where I could look? I've seen many hagwons that offer Chinese lessons... Are these classes all taught by Koreans?
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Cool

A lot of adult hagwons have native sppeakers from China and Japan along with the English speakers. Be careful though, they tend to get treated poorly by their schools.

Many colleges and universities have Chinese departments. She could try putting in a resume.
