Seoul, only because I've never been to any of the others listed....I have an impression that it works that way with a lot of people....(Seoul winning just by default)

I'd say anywhere but Singapore and Seoul. Koreans have too much of a "we will have fun even if it kills us" approach, and I can't imagine a city that bans chewing gum having much of a nightlife.

I've been to 5 of the listed cities and seriously Seoul's nightlife is pretty damn good compared to most.. especially considering that many of those cities shut almost everything down around midnight during the week..

And even on weekends the Korean nightlife is loads more liberal than most places (with obvious exceptions).. and goes on until sunrise..

Yes, where is Pohang? I had more fun in Pohang than in any of the other cities you mentioned...

its pretty hard to beat BANGKOK!!

but then again.. it all depends on what we mean by nightlife!!

Tokyo is great but it would be better if you are japanese so more doors open to better clubs..

Korea emmm its ok.. but bangkok kills it..

so....
what are we talking about here??

Jakarta is very underestimated.. I loved Jakarta at night as well. Hated it during the daytime however.

Bangkok? Not lately. PM Thaksin has declared war on sanuk. That means bars now close at midnight and you can be randomly tested for drugs on the street.

I've heard good things about KL.

What nightlife are we talking about here? Drugging? Drinking? Whoring? Some people get their kicks from sitting in a board game cafe all night. Be more specific.

I lived in Jakarta for two years. Loved it. Was hesitant to leave and plan to go back someday. Leaving Seoul on Saturday. No hard feelings but don't have any plans to come back here.
I'd greatly appreciate it if any of you could hook me up with some Indonesians living in Korea!

I've been to 6 of those listed, and have to say Phnom penh. Of course prostitution is a big thing there, but the people are friendly and approachable in any case, and the bars are many and diverse..A bizarre expat community there..and a wierd variety of things to do and see...a real assault on the senses, a colorful, vibrant and interesting city, for all its startling poverty. Cambodia is certainly the most intrigueing country in asia to me- full of character and scenic beauty.
