This is another fun little thing to do. The kids all know their color names like red, blue, etc. However, they don't know those other colors. What other colors? You know those colors women generally know but men don't. This leads to all kinds of trouble for us men. "I TOLD YOU TO PACK MY FUCHSIA SHOES BUT YOU PACKED THE PINK ONES! YOU NEVER LISTEN TO ME! YOU'RE THE WORST AZZHOLE I'VE EVER DATED."

*shudder* *lock away the horrible memories*

This is something you can do if you have a laptop. Create blank web pages, each with a different exotic background color. I did khaki, maroon, teal, salmon, powder blue, olive, aquamarine, indigo, lime, and fuchsia. I couldn't get lavender right so I gave up on that one. I wanted to limit myself to ten colors so I cut aubergine from the list.

Okay then display each one on your laptop for the class (errr works good if you have small classes) and let them know the names. "Okay this is fuchsia." It's fun then to quiz them about what blend of primary type colors they think make up the color, if they've seen this color before, where they've seen it, etc.

"Okay, Lilly, try to describe fuchsia. Right it's a pinkish, purplish, red. Fuchsia is a good color for a prom dress or it's a good color to force on your bridesmaids when you get married."
