i was told that the legal process here only involved signature stamps on immigration paperwork and not the familiar signed contract. is this true? im nervous because there is talk of the classes changing and shorter working hours come the new year.
other than normal salty business (hiding attendance sheets, ect) i feel i have a pretty good contract. what possible outcomes should i anticipate and what can i do about them? |

It's very normal for your employer to delay signing the contract, BUT you can insist on it. You may have to give a reason (other than, "I don't trust you,") but one that may work is that you need it for banking. If they start questioning you further, tell them it's for your home bank, getting a credit card, or something like that. The reason why this is a good excuse is because it could be true!
BTW, I had an employer not sign a contract which I had already signed, and while I was on a holiday in Canada the situation changed at the uni, and my hours were cut, and there was nothing I could do about it.
Get the contract signed! |

All the documents they give to immigration including the contract must be signed and have a copy of the school seal on them. There should be no reason for you not to have a signed copy of your contract. Tell th em you need it for pension and taxation purposes. |
