In my school days I developed an addiction to late night taco bell that would rival any crackhead on the street's need for a fix. So, I may already know the answer to this but...is there a T-Bell here in Korea (I'd even head North if that's what it takes)?

If no, then where is the best AUTHENTIC mexican food in the greater Seoul area?

Thanks for your help people, I could slaughter someone for a soft taco and an ice cold PBR about now.

Max,

Well, I don't know where to go for one, however, I make them all the time.

You can buy corn and/or flour tortillas in Hannam-dong (market under the Volvo building) as well as taco/chili seasoning (my mama sends homemade spices over...lucky me). Chedder cheese, guacamole, and sour cream come in rather large portions in the same shop, so unless you can live off tacos/fajitas I'd go halfsies with someone.

Buy ground beef (가른소고기) through your local butcher that has USDA. Not because it tastes better, but because it's 50% the price of Korean beef.

If you don't know how to make shells or tacos in general, let me know, and I'll ring you with explanations.

Cheers,

Ryst

Rusty,

You are more than helpful. I can make all the fixins myself and have tracked down the ingredients so far.

I'll make them soon. It's just that I needed that special something that only T-bell can provide, you just can't make it like that at home.

I had a co-worker of mine who has a base pass (army boyfriend) bring me some Taco Bell once. It was a bit past it by the time it arrived to where I was, but I didn't care at all, it was freakin sweet.

I do find it pretty funny though that you're asking for authentic Mexican food and Taco Bell in the same breath. Don't get me wrong, I like both as well, but it's pretty funny all the same. I'd also like to know if there's good Mexican anywhere here, I've seen the question on the board before but it's never seemed to pan out.

In Apgujeong there is a very good Mexican Restaurant called Casa Miya.
It on a steet near the former UNO's. It is in the Seoul Restaurant Guide Book which was available during the world cup. It is quite good and they make everything (tortillas, salsa, ect.) in shop.

The owner lived in Mexico and South America for nine years.

Other Good Restaurants in Apgujoeng:

Le Cafe du Wok: North American Style Chinese
Holy Chow: Canadian Style Chinese
Fuyi Express: fast food style Chinese
NY Fires: Candian style New York Style Fries (and Poutine)
and many many more ....

It's a fast food chain in Canada normally found in malls that specializes in fries (with various toppings, etc.) but also has hot dogs and stuff. The name is just a name, the place is actually Canadian and I have pretty strong doubts that the food resembles "New York style" anything.

That being said, I might go and check out some bastardized poutine, that may go down well...

Doesn't the COEX food court area have Mexican food? It seems like I remember having some there. Some Western style restaurants have things like nachos too. I've had those in Kwangju and Mokpo so I'm sure there's lots in Seoul. It's probably best to make it all yourself though.

I've eaten at the Taco Bell on Yongsan, and you haven't. It was good. Really good. I thought about your emaciated faces while I slurped back those enchiladas. Mmmm mmmm good.

OK, a long ways to go, but the only one I've been able to find in Asia is in Singapore. Orchid street. Might be more around by now, China ?????

Anywhere else ?
