Hi again,
There was a post a few months back that was about an airline offering free flights to North America if you travel with a Korean child that is being adopted and needs delivery. I tried to find it via the search option but had no luck. Does anyone know anything about this program and how to get involved? Also, has anyone out there done it that might have some advice for me? I could totally use a free flight home and love flying with kids I don't know

There are 3 mobs that do it. One is Holt, another is the Eastern Childrens Welfare something or other, and there is one more. Holt apparently arranges for babies to be delivered to Paris, Stockholm, Luxembourg and Denmark. They all require couriers too. Might have to get in quick for those though, because the Koreans would be lining up. With the new visa restrictions on Koreans for entry into the U.S there will probably be an even greater demand for baby couriers.

Considering the life the orphans are getting away from, yes, you're right it is truely wonderful they are given the opportunity to live with a family that wants and will love them. Better than the stigmatised life of growing up familyless in Korea
I've heard of free flights, but just through word of mouth, nothing official.
What I heard was that a lot of US couple adopting Korean babies chose to collect the baby at the airport in the US, rather than fly to Korea, and that yeah free flights are given to peope who agree to mind the baby during the flight
This agency arranges lots of adoptions in the US,
Try contacting them their office is near Hongik University / Sinchon

What a load of bull. Most of these 'orphans' have parents. The only thing that determines which way the babies are sold is who's got the money. Rich people think they can buy babies, and they're not often wrong.
What korea needs is an improved social welfare system and continued development of women's lib. There's no need to sell babies. There's no need for Holt or other babysnatching agents to come in and create motivation for poor mothers to sign away their kids.
Thankfully Korea's economy is getting better. In places like Thailand and Vietnam, many women become baby factories because it's the best way for them to earn a lot of money.
Slave trading is still slave trading even if you treat your slaves well. |

Are you willing to register at those boards (Holt) and say the same thing to the people who are regular users there and plan to adopt?

What irresponsible and awful posts.
I know several former Holt-babies back home. One of them is an ex-gf who was abandoned at an orphanage by her parents at age 6, along with her two brothers. |

| Have you ever visited an orphanage here? There are so many kids, babies, that can never be adopted abroad because the Korean government is restricting the number of babies they 'export' to other countries. But there are very few Korean couples willing to adopt them, so they just get stuck in Korean orphanages all their lives. And they get an occasional visit from the likes of me to play with them for a few hours on | | |
