Hey got a calling card from that shop in Itaewon, kinda gold colour and says 'Worldring' and 'Serome Leaders' on it...........

I'm trying to call uk with it and it won't work, any uk dudes (or anyone) know what to do, after ive put the country code (044 yeah?) then the area code then the number and pressed # it tells me the minutes I have and goes silent or says thankyou and hangs up, i thought the silence might mean dialing but it lasted 15mins and still didnt connect, any ideas...........................the first person to solve this for me will win a small prize..............................

Most calling cards demand that after the PIN you dial the country code (44, 966, 33 whatever) and then area code, then number. There is never a leading zero in a country code, but delete the leading zero of any area code. So for UK ... to Cambridge ..

(PIN) 44 1223 234 567

Some however, expect the international access code (001/002 here) before the country code. In this case

(PIN) 001 44 1223 234 567

Do you have a computer with internet connection? If so, trash all of your calling cards and download Skype from the internet. It's a FREE P2P based internet phone system which provides clearer lines than KT or any of those calling card companies.

Look into it, you may be able to save a lot of money by using it.

I use my mobile and stick a code in front of the number. The code is 00345 as in 00345 44 area code local number. I have no idea what it does but it seems to make my calls cheaper. Maybe somebody knows - the code was passed onto me by another crazy waygook.

I used skype for the first time the other night- it costs something like 1.7 cents/euros per minute, and the line was as clear as a normal phone.

If you use skytype, dosent the other person have to have a computor? And how do u pay the bill?

Skype is free if both parties are connecting via the skype software (NOT skype to phone number, there's a charge for that connection.)

Jaz's advice is good, but make sure that the end party has it installed and adds you to their list (like using MSN Messenger, but better voice quality most of the time.)

If the other person doesn't have skype, you can buy minutes using a credit card through paypal. The rates are dirt cheap, and the sound is crystal clear. No lag.
