Spent 5&1/2 years in Korea and have been home now for just over a year.

I've got a different question that I think dovetails nicely to this thread -
I'm curious as to how many people who have come to Korea are/were 'first-time' expats (i.e you may have visited other countries before but this your first time actually living and working abroad) and how many are 'career expats' (i.e Korea wasn't the first country abroad you've lived in and it probably won't be the last)?

Wow....five or more years is the norm here? That's surprising!
I plan on returning to Korea for one more year in about a month, but I do intend to come back to California after that for good. Smile

Definately not the first, definately not the last. I think they're are a lot of people here like that.

Also, I don't think 5 years is the norm- just happens to be that those people are the ones answering the questions.

From discusions, less than 2 years seems to be the norm.

I've been here a year and a half, and will be here for a year more, at least.
