So what does one do with an MA in Korean Studies? Is this pure academic interest or are you going to be a professor/CIA agent/diplomat/international businessperson or what?

Most of the votes seem to be one extreme or the other.
Essentially people love the place or hate it.
Interesting.

Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

Actually
1. It's interesting and we should study what we enjoy learning about, shouldn't we?
2. I take photos and write about Korea, this provides me with more information for my writing. This is increasingly how I earn my bread and butter, and studying up on Korea feeds into that...
3. English teachers who spent X number of years in Korea are a dime a dozen, whereas people who learned the language and the culture actually can find work if they pursue many different fields. You should see the number of great jobs that come through our school's placement office weekly! Fact is, the piece of paper matters to a lot of people and no matter how long you spend here, you aren't a Korea "expert" without the paper to back you up.
