when I was there I stayed in Jeju-si, stopped in a Min-bak near the Oriental Hotel. That area has a big promenade kind of area call 10-15 mins by taxi from there called "Tap Dong", loads of restaurants and bars, and there's a beach maybe 10 mins away by taxi.

A lot of people told me that Seogwipo on the south side was a better place to stay though...

On the east coast there is a town called Seongsan, its very small but pretty cool.

The good thing about Korea is that you can drink anywhere at anytime and the beach there is pretty and Udo island is good to go to as well.

But if you are not looking for a chilled out time but more of a pub thing then that might not be so good

If you want to drink, go to Tapdong, or Sicheong. Both places have lots of bars and restaurants. A beach is not too far away at Iho or Hamdoek.

A place to stay? I don't know any but there are sure to be yagwons or minbaks in Sichung and a decent hotel down in Tapdong. In Tapdong, i've seen the Jeju Tourist Hotel, or the Seaside Tourist Hotel. I don't remember the exact name.

thanks guys.. we just spent a fairly good evening in some bar.. but will try out the tapdong place tomorrow. we found a �ι� place, and wow.. it's bloody good! i'll never stay in a love motel again!
