Maxx, thanx for the new siggy!
For leather, also consider Osan/Songtan.

Second that, just bought a leather jacket in Song-tan for 170,000 for my little brother...not my style, and the one I preferred (of the ones he chose) ran 130,000.
The one I would buy for myself ran 320,000...then again, it was a biker's jacket and extra thick and had extras....
Shoosh,

I searched for leather and got this thread. Couldn't find crap in any of the other threads, and yet, still, this simple question isn't answered. Does anyone know of a good place to buy leather coats for a good price in Seoul/Incheon?
Is that Nammyung (or whatever it's called) market a good place? Thx for answers (if they come) |

Last year my wonderful girlfriend bought me a great leather jacket from Itaewon. Itaewon is pretty good for leather jackets though the thread they use is sometimes of questionable quality. One of my buttons started to come off but they repaired it in the shop and the jacket has been fine ever since.
I like my leather jacket a lot. |

Four or five shops in Itaewon at least. I picked up an Eddie Bauer pilot style jacket for 110,000 at the Leather Park, same side of the street as KFC.
Bought a belt and a wallet to match. |

You can get some really good quality custom made jackets done in Songtan near the military base.
I personally recommend Mr Kims? Mr K..... ? He does excellent work and charges decent prices. It is on the second street on the right...maybe 3'rd it is near the military cheque cashing place. |

Five years ago, and I still have it, my only leather coat. I got it at the Tongdaemun area for 10,000 won. It's used, of course. It's brown, a kind of bomber style. Simple. It's lined, heavy leather, good for riding a motorcycle in the Winter.
There's a big fleamarket Dongdaemun subway exit 6. It was from a guy who had a whole bunch of leather jackets, a 'used, leather jacket specialist'. |

Suwon puts you closer to Song-tan/O-san; better quality, better price on either a set jacket/coat or a custom tailored one.
I have no problems with 2nd-hand stuff, and if you don't, definitely consider the Dong-dae moon rummage option!
Regards,
Glen
(In Song-tan, there are several excellent, very reputable leather tailors & bootmakers right near the front gate of the base) |
