It's free for new pages, I've done it twice, my passport isn't a booklet, it's a long novel!

Yeah, you can go to the embassy and they will give you new pages for about $40. Not sure of the cost, but I've done it.

Well, if you really did pay, someone ripped you off.

Really cool people, such as myself, get the extra pages in Yemen. I mean come on, how many people have a stamp from the US Embassy in sanaa?

Yeah, that's what I thought...

And yes, its free. Your passport doubles in size too.

I'm impressed Cedar, you've done it twice huh? Well if I do another tour of the Middle East, I might catch up to you. Nothing like full-page visas to help fill one up...

Yep and fork over some money too. They don't do a damn thing for free over there.

Yeah, I had it done and it is actually free, and you can just send it to them with the right form...but you have to send a return envelope for registered mail or they won't send the passport back.

I had to send mine to the passport office in Virginia to sew more pages on. It's free, but I had to pay an expedition fee because I needed it in a hurry. I guess the embassy would take a lot less time.

I ran out of passport pages while in Thailand. It is true that they can add new pages at the U.S. embassy. However, there are other options to consider. While in Thailand I visited a travel agency that could provide this service. I bought tickets to Lao and Cambodia, so they sent somebody to the embassy on my behalf. It saved me from spending all day waiting in an embassy line. I didn't have to spend a single penny on the service.

Then again the passport pages were added on September first (9/1). I imagine that things might have changed since then.
