| I've been screwed ROYALLY by Amazon... no future credit, nothing. Also had a bad experience (ad didn't match reality) with Yesasia. I haven't ordered from What the Book? but I've visited the store and wouldn't hesitate. I don't mind when things don't work out perfectly when there is some sort of recognition from the company. |

Definitely the best place in Korea to order books online and get them quickly. Also, a convenient location in Itaewon to pick up some used books (huge selection at great prices). I dropped off 10 copies of my book there for now, and I plan to return soon with a pile of books I've read as a donation. No sense of keeping books you don't plan on reading again, especially living overseas.

I guess I'm gonna have to try whatthebook, now that I'm out of Seoul. When I'm in Seoul, I'll second this:

I don't go there often because I walk out 100,000 won poorer. The English section alone rivals most bookstores back in the States. |

| You have a Korean bank account, right? Go to the bank, with the account # and name of the account holder and bring your passport ( some banks require it even for in country transfers). Tell the woman that you want to wire money to this account. Pretty much the same as sending money home. |

You can also do it from most ATM's, without having to stand in line, argue with the bank teller, etc.
Just pick the "Transfer to another account" option on an ATM machine. |

There is an example of the form you need to fill out when you select that option at What the Book. When you go into the bank, just find the form and fill in the info. Or you can use the ATM, but I've not done that so I'm not sure how.
Just a tip...they use Kookmin Bank. If you go to a KB branch, you only get charged 1.000 won for the transfer at the window. If you use another bank, it's 2.000 or 2.500. I don't know about the ATM. Anyone else know that?
I've used the bank transfer a couple of times and I love it!

Thanks for the tip....I live in a really small town, and can only access a Nonghyup bank. However, I have seen the transfer button on my machine, and might give it a try.....a litle nervous however.
But going into the bank to transfer is ALWAYS a chore, so anything like this makes my life a lot easier.
