i don't know about all these people jocking kangnam. i live in apkujeong, kangnam... it's just as dirty as any other area in seoul.

it's like itaewon only with 'attitude', and the 'attitude' displayed by some of the pretentious fartknocking blowhards in this neighborhood is laughable at best.

sinchon and hongdae seem so much more interesting as far as restaurants, nightlife, etc.

Gangnam is an eye sore. How anyone can have an attitude for living around there is beyond my comprehension.

You think Seongnam is nice!!!! Have you been there? Or just to Namhansanseong?

Seongnam is noisy, dirty and old (by Korean standards). Say you live in Seongnam and Koreans wrinkle their noses and sympathise with you!!!

I was there for a year (as well as a year in Bundang) and despite it being more fun than Bundang, (anywhere is more fun than Bundang!!!) I would never go back there.

Eamo, you have to admit, the girls who hang around Seohyeon on a Friday night is a pretty good argument for Bundang being a GREAT place to live.

True...true...A man could go blind thinking really hard about those girls.....

Frankly, I like to control my access to Seoul. It's nice being close to it, but I also like to get out of the place, so yeah, I'm "lovin'" the suburbs. The best of all possible worlds.

Sure, most of Seongnam sucks, but that's why I said I'd like to be near the fortress.

Depends on what you're looking for in an area.

Well I'm looking for an exciting city with a good nightlife and various options for food, drink and activity.

naw, its all about simgok dong near Bucheon station. That place is the shiznit. Dirty, little narrow streets. But its got character Smile.

Plus its got every freaking megastore w/in 5 minute bus ride (wal-mart, e-mart, carrefour, cost plus, hyundai dept. store), subway is right there, etc.

Songnae is nice but a little too new for me (like Zed said).

No nightlife nearby though, that's the downer.
