About 8.1 percent of South Koreans was found to have parasites, sharply up from 2.4 percent in 1997, according to a survey conducted by Seoul National University Hospital.

Right now there is an 85% chance that you, the reader, is infected with parasites. Whether you are healthy or sick does not make a difference. In recent medical studies, it has been estimated that 85% of the North American population has at least 1 or more parasite living in their bodies. Some authorities feel that the figure is has high as 95%. Experts claim that we have more parasitic infections then some third world countries and that Africa has less of a problem than we do.

In 1976, the U.S. Center for Disease Control(CDC) conducted the first nation-wide survey on the infestation of parasites in the entire population. The findings showed that one in every six people selected at random was hosting at least one form of parasite. Dr. Louis Parish determined that at least 8 out of 10 of his patients had a parasitic infection of some type. This led him to estimate that possibly 25% of the population of New York City could be infected. Some professionals estimate that half of all Americans will become hosts to parasites at some point in their lives.

Is Something Having YOU for Dinner?
Chances are YES! What You Don't Know CAN Hurt You!
The odds are at least one in 10 and possible five in 10 that you are infected with some sort of parasite.

I've just realised, this is actually a PRO Korea thread by Real Reality- he's pointing out that far fewer Koreans have parasites compared to Americans.

Shocked

A VERY good argument to stay drunk. Freaking parasites're lurking everywhere. Who's to know when they may strike? Best to keep a bottle of Jinro close at hand, non?

Did you read that article RR posted a link to up top. Freakin disgusting! They sound like flakes though. Who'd worry about parasites. Only someone who's brain is still half uneaten.

It should be pointed out that they are product websites (check the bottom of the pages), and more than a little alarmist.
