I'm trying to decide whether to register with a site like Photobucket to show my pics to the folks back home, or whether there are smarter/more convenient options.

What do you opt for when sharing those Kodak/Samsung/Olympus moments?

I keep seeing people say that photobucket is tightening it's purse strings, so you might have no look there. If so then there's a site called http://ofoto.com that does a similar thing.

ofoto looks like an excellent choice. It's just a shame I can't use it to host photos on my livejournal, but my family will appreciate it nonetheless. Thanks!

head to blogger.com and set up your own blog. This takes about one minute. It is really easy now to insert photos into a blog and write comments and set it up so that others can leave comments too. Entirely free.

It beats ofoto in that no one needs a password to login although it does mean that anyone can look at your pics which isn't such a drag is it after all....?

I'm all blogged up already at Livejournal, though I have to host my own images Sad or "borrow" them from elsewhere). At ofoto, you can fix it so that your pals don't need to log in, but you have to invite them individually. However, you can select who gets to look at what album, which is pretty neat. Also, I like the built-in photo editing features like cropping, rotation, red-eye, etc.

Thanks for the advice, though! Much appreciated. Cool
