That's exactly what I thought. I just don't see a South Korean heading up North.
Although, not every South Korean believes what they hear about the NK. Some view the NK as their brothers and bretheren. Boy is that guy in for a surprise the next day when he gets 5 grains of rice for the whole week. but, it was most likely a spy.
What's the NK spy hotline number again? 115? I know the reward is 50,000,000 won. That is apparently what that taxi driver got for spotting the sub off of Gangneun in the late 1980s. |

You may laugh, it is not really very funny. Where I live there is considerable military activity going on.
Nobody really knows what is the story is.
My students certainly don't think it is humerous. The ROK military certainly doesn't nor does the US military.
The North Koreans are very dangerous people.
I am not in the military. I live near the DMZ. I think that the kids are very astute about things around here. We saw the equipment being moved around.
It is a big laugh. |

This just in.
Dr. Kluck, the chair of the Department of Poultry Science at KFCU said that a chicken feather was found stuck in the wire of one the small holes.
Although the feather does closely resemble that of a North Korean Chicken, no conclusive statment can be made at this time.
The chicken feather in question has been taken to KFCU where it will under go extensive DNA testing. Dr. Kluck stated, "We started developing an extensive data base of North Korean Chicken DNA several years ago just in case of such an emergency".
At present, there is no immediate cause for alarm. However, South Korean residents are advised to keep a look out for any suspisious looking chickens, and report them to local authorities.

We interrupt this thread with a special report about the chicken feather that was found in the mysterious hole on the DMZ. Reporting live from the hole is Kwangjuchicken.
Yes. Thanks Bob. We are now into the 4th day of this mystery. And, it still might be some time until we get some good answers to some very important questions. The questions that are on everyone's mind are, Is it a chicken feather? And, if it is, is it a North Korean chicken feather?
And, of course, if it does turn out to be a North Korean chicken feather, what effect will it have on world wide terrorism, global warming, nuclear weapons in the middle east, oil prices, the US presidential elections, and most importantly, the price of chicken eggs in South Korea.
At present, the UN is taking this situation quite seriously. A source close to this story has reported that a top ranking official in the UN said, "This hole must be probed".
We are still waiting for the DNA report from the tests being conducted by Dr. Kluck at KFCU.
Once again. All korean residents are asked to keep a close watch out for any strange chickens or chicken related activity and report it at once to local authorities.

This is Kwangjuchicken reporting live from the labs at KFCU.
Although much more time is needed to finish all the DNA testing on the feather that was found in the mysterious hole on the DMZ, preliminary findings show that it is indeed a chicken feather.
According to Dr. Kluck, it will still be a few more days before the DNA tests will determine whether or not the feather came from a South or North Korean chicken.
I have also been told that the feather has undergone extensive carbon dating. There was some concern that perhaps the holes were man made and not chicken made. If the holes were man made, then it was possible that after the hole was made, it was dusted with a chicken feather duster and that during the dusting activity the feather became stuck on the wire and was pulled from the duster.
The carbon dating has shown that the feather saw still attached to a live chicken 5 to 6 days ago.
There is, however, the possibility that the hole was man made and it was then dusted with a live chicken tied on a stick, and as such the chicken feather got stuck in the wire and was pulled out during the dusting activity.
Dr. Quack, chair of the history department at KFCU, who is considered the world's number one authourity on Asian Chicken History, said, "For thousands of years in Asia it was common practice to tie a live chicken to a stick and use it for dusting. Although this is rarely done nowadays, it is quite possible that this system is still in practice in North Korea".
Well, now you have it Bob. All we can be sure of now, is that it is a chicken feather that 5 to 6 days ago was still attached to a live chicken.
South Korean residents are still advised to keep a look out for any suspecious looking chickens or chicken related activity and report this information to the local authorities.

I live just 40 km from the DMZ, so if an onslaught of those pesky communist chickens is impending, I'd like to be forewarned. (I'll need more soya oil and garlic and peppers..). Communist chicken: the other red meat. |
