I'm starting an internet video news station out of my website, and I am looking for story ideas.

Building the graphics right now, and they're pretty cool.

I plan to do about 2 to 3 a week once I get going, and slowly build up a database of video news stories about life for foreigners in Seoul. I want the stories to be interesting for people like us -- teachers, etc.

I also plan to include some student stories, which they are currently working on as part of my 2nd-year writing class.

Do you have any ideas of news stories that you would find interesting? Obviously, since it's mostly just me doing the stories, I won't be able to do anything timely-- just feature stuff. Maybe stories about people on Dave's (I want to do one on Kiwiboy's music-making talent -- stuff like that).

By the way, I hate to put my ugly mug up on screen, so I'm trying to get one of my students, who is in the finals for Supermodel 2004, to be the Lead-in anchor for the stories. She's in my writing class, but her spoken English isn't that good (would be good practice for her to memorize though!) I've posted about her before -- we're all proud of her -- go Eun Young!!:

Hahahah! That's the idea! Wink

Seriously, it would be a good/fun news program. I am setting it up to look similar to how online TV News stories run -- click on the story, etc.

Here is the base logo:

I haven't changed the site from my personal one yet, but that's pretty simple to do when I'm ready.

Thanks, Beav...

Here is a link to the virtual-reality news set. The final render will be a lot larger, and I will modify the logo in the background (it wasn't complete).

I will "key" the anchor over this, just like they do with the weatherperson when they do the weather on TV.

When I get it into Adobe After Effects, and spend a day, I'll make some awesome moving graphics and stuff to incorporate.

Sorry guys... definately nothing like that.

She's 17 in Western age!

And yes, I work at a high school. This idea is sort of an extension of something I'm doing with my writing classes.

How about all the robed people in Itaewon I've been reading about recently? I'm not being snide here, I'm actually curious how the visa system works for them, where they hang out, whether they study Korean or not, etc.

What else...maybe Cheem and his bookstore, um...I don't suppose you'd be interested in going down to ܳε to see how far along the space centre is in construction? They say it'll be done in 2008, but who knows... Maybe Vanislander would feel like doing that.

The whole Seoul Stream thing.

It sounds like someone taking a piss into the Han River

See how people like the new bus system in Seoul. Is it working out as planned?

Are you saying I should incorporate a picture of "Shaft" pissing into the Han?

Laughing

Ok, seriously, the bookstore is a good idea. How about a story on Mithrades giving his suggestions for learning Korean?
