If I run a program like Adobe After Effects for a trial period, then uninstall, is there any way I can "extend" the trial period?

Will cleaning out the Registry make a difference?

Just find a crack for it. That'll extend it quite a ways.

It will if you delete the correct entries. Run 'regedit' do a search. Do a manual search. You might try a google or altavista search for the relevant entries to wipe.

Find Lunatic.org they sometimes have Adobe stuff cracked for you.

What do you mean by cleaning out the registry? I doubt many programs set up for limited time use can be fooled with simple windows tricks. Assuming you can't hack the registry, reinstalling your O/S is the only way to really do it. And no one wants that.

Many popular programs have hacks that you can google for. Some work. Some don't.

Alternatively, try suprnova.org and see if someone has uploaded a registered version. Make sure you scan the file with an up to date virus scanner, mind you. Lots of these programs come with malicious backdoors added.

By cleaning out the registry, I mean deleting the entries made by that program (at least what I can find).

I'll give this one a try after my free trial of After Effects is over.

I guess it really doesn't matter though. My classroom has 7 computers in it, and the trial is one month. I will just go from one computer to the next if I have to. Smile

Seven months is more than enough time to do what I want.
