Does anybody know of any specialist schools or recruiters that specialise in recruiting teachers with British accents ?

Why? Are you having problems finding a job in the mainstream market, or do you have a preference to be around POMS only? |

You don't need to bother. Yes, most employers prefer a North American accent but there's still some room for poms. |

What kind of British accent do you have ? If you have a very strong accent, perhaps a 'Cockney' or a 'Welsh' accent you may not be able to get a job here. In the other hand, if your accent is fairly 'neutral', you shouldn't experience any difficulties.
[Hey, what are the mods doing ? I used a word to describe the accent of those Londoners 'Born within the sound of Bow Bells' and they subsitiuted the word '*beep*'. I'll try again ... the word the mods censored was C*O*C*K*N*E*Y ......... and it's not a rude word !!!!!]
I am Australian but my accent is hardly noticeable and I have never had a problem getting a job here.
I believe those hagwans that insist on a 'North American' accent are doing themselves and their students a disservice because Koreans need to be made aware that there is more to the world than just the USA. |
