My all-girls school has a gay couple.

So don't say it doesn't happen.

They hug kiss on the lips... more than a short peck, too.

I've seen them getting really "close" and it made me wonder, since I'd never seen Korean girls get THAT close.

Then the other day, some students told me about it, and they happened to name the same girls.

There is no homosexuality in Korea. None. I have that on the authority of my first boss so it must be true Laughing

What's the big deal anyway. Gay people, who gives a shit?

Just question the kissing in school.

Could a boy and a girl kiss one another in a school here? Is that acceptable?

it's the cool thing to do these days.
they enjoy the attention, and the new pop media is making hip to be a lesbian.

all my girl students snicker about their school's 'lesbian couple'...every school seems to have one.
but the prevalence of hetero couples, smooching in the same fashion, is comparatively non existent.

there probably are gays in your school, Gollum.
however, would anyone want to flaunt it in the eyes of THIS society???

it's all an act....them grls.

There's a 12 year old boy at my hagwon who is quite flaming. The other students students will point at him and say "He's crazy".

They probably just don't know the correct English terminology and pick the ever popular, all-purpose "crazy", when they really mean to say "he's hot for all the other 12 year old boys' sharpies"

There's a gay couple at my school too....its me and my girlfriend! shocking!

But really I do tend to agree with the pop media comment. Especially with TATU recently being on the scene.

I do have a boy who identifies with being a woman. He says when he grows up he wants to marry a man. He names himself as one of the girls in class and is always telling me that I am a queen and he is the princess. He's only 7 and I am not about to make him feel bad for his feelings, so I let him go on with his ideas. One day his mom found out and asked if we could make sure that he knew he was a boy. I sat him down and said "billy you're a boy do you understand that?" he said "yes teacher" 'So you have to marry a girl when you are older" He said " ok but I will have a man too' Wink

Yes. I've been told that homosexuality is a "foreign" problem.

I don't know if there are any couples per se in my all girls' middle school, though it's possible.

It's definitely true they are aware of it. I asked one class just now to tell me all the words they knew where the word has an S in it that sounded like Z, and one girl said "Lesbian." Laughing

I couldn't help cracking up in the classroom.

The basic joke being aside here....who cares if some of our students are gay? Laughing

What does that have to do with anything?

Homosexuality is just as common in Korea as it is in every other country. Being OPEN about being gay or lesbian is a whole 'nother issue. I have a couple of gay Korean friends and it's SOOO difficult for them Their standard response to "What do you think about gays?" always elicits a "I hate them" response. Telling anyone about your homosexuality entails a huge risk.

Things ARE changing here...albeit slowly. A few years ago, if you asked the question "Are gay people born or do they choose to be gay?" Most people will say "choose". In the past couple of years, most have changed to "born". Quite a step, I would say!

And yeah, like Homer said: What does it have to do with anything?

Well, the idea of a couple of girls wearing school uniforms and going to town on each other with a whole lot of slurping and groaning and moaning and licking and nuzzling and touching and sucking and so on might be appealing to the baser instincts of a poster or two.

For cying out loud people! Leave it at girls middle school or boys high school. Is the 'all' really necessary? Are you bragging?

I went shopping at the all vegetable market yesterday.
Enough already!! Twisted Evil
