Buy a narrow plastic pipe--or find one in the trash--and cut it according to the following dimensions:



In class, give one pipe to each student.
When you point to each student, that student pats one end of the pipe while leaving the other end open.

You can play many children's on this pipe set, such as "Mary Had a Little Lamb," "The Farmer in the Dell," and "Old MacDonald Had a Farm."

With only four of these pipes, you can also play stylized spoken intonation patterns, such as:
"Why are you mad at me?" (la mi mi mi mi mi so)
"I was just kidding." (so mi la mi la so)
"That's what you think!" (do mi la so)
