I just finished watching the developer (and critic) interviews. The designers took a "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" attitude when making this game, which really means, they realized no matter how meager an effort they put into it, a gajillion 13 punks were going to buy it anyway. Lazy bums.
So, everything is basically the same (weapons, vehicles, creatures), and it's SHORTER than the original. SHORTER? Isn't it supposed to get MORE COMPLEX as the story progresses? Weak.
Everybody is hee-hawing about the multiplayer mode. Who gives a rat's ass? If I want to play a smack-down, shotgun-to-the-head shoot 'em up, I'll play Unreal on my PC.
I haven't played the game yet, so there's still hope, right? |

I downloaded and watched a 9 minute video of the game. The video is someone playing the game and I saw new weapons and monsters/ aliens.
Plus, you can do more things, like jump a Ghost and knock the driver out and take it over.
I can't wait to go to Yongsan this weekend and get the game (no bootleg for me); it should be there as the game went on sale worldwide on Tuesday. |

I can't get excited about it as I don't own an Xbox. The first HALO on pc was alright, but not nearly worth the wait (thanks, Microsoft!).
It's hard to be excited about HALO 2 when Half-Life2 is going to be released next week.

History in the making. It raises the bar for interactive entertainment, and then uses that bar to club all other games into submission...Valve has forged the framework for the next generation of games, demonstrating what our medium can and should be able to accomplish - an exhilarating entertainment that can emotionally move you one moment, kick ass the next, and keep you immersed the whole time.
Valve just hit the top note no other PC game developer could reach...
A game of a higher order of magnitude than any of the previous pretenders to the throne. The polish and the stratospheric production values mean that Half-Life 2 is a magnificent, dramatic experience that has few peers.
Revel, savour and bask in the brilliance; this is a game that no gamer can afford to ignore... The PC's finest gaming moment, with a half-life of forever. |
