Independence Gate (door) pronounced "Dongnimmun" in English
Լء independence (sorry, can't find the separate meaning for the characters)
 ڦ gate/door
Incidentally, if you've done most everything in Seoul and want to see something new, the park at this station is rather nice. You might see a stunningly attractive (okay, okay, mildly attractive ) foreign woman with a poodle in desperate need of a haircut walking around there. Say hi if you do! I don't recommend paying the 2300won to enter the Seodaemun prison history hall, however -- unless you have a specific interest in that history. It's has a lot of mannequins depicting awful scenes of torture, and put me in a bad mood for 2 whole days!!! |

Most of the stops with mean water-something, although not all. Just look at the Hanja. Its the same Hanja for Wednesday. |
There's one stop that always sounds like "kum ho" to me. |

| Oddly enough, I bought a book on exactly this same subject years ago, when there were fewer lines than there are now. It explained the station names and gave a bit of the history of the area around each station. |
