|
|
I download some games..
the ISO files.. or the EXE files.. bins whatever..
how can I burn them onto a disk so when I take it to my friends house..
I can just put the cd in and start playing..
seems I just burn the contents which I download onto the disk..
so its basically like moving the files I already have on my drive to the disk
I just want to burn so the game is working and fully funtional on the disk.
how can I do this??
and some the games are like 2 gigs.. what happens in these cases..?? |

You can't burn a game so it will run from the disk for a number of reasons which for brevity I won't get into here. Let's just say that an installer for a game does more than just copy files to an area of your hard drive. You can only burn .iso files as a copy of the installer and program data. If you want to play a game at your friends house, you will have to take the CDs there and install it on their hard drive.
I had a friend once who copied his entire installation directory to a CD thinking he could play it from the CD... It was UT2003...I guess the CD didn't have enough memory...
A 2GB .iso needs to be burned to a DVD, unless it's a .rar file or some kind of 'packed' set of .iso files, in which case it will need to be extracted using winrar or winzip first.
Burning an .iso file to a disk does nothing....you still need .iso or .bin burning software at your friends house, and burn the game onto another CD. If your friend has only one CD-ROM drive (a burner, I hope), you will have to copy the .iso to their hard drive first, then insert a blank CD and burn the image (.iso file) to a blank CD. Burning .iso files themselves to a CD is a waste. |

I think this is where you need to give more details. Are we supposed to tell you how to burn any given format you might come across? Need a specific file you're having trouble with.
And there have been lots of threads on this subject in this forum, some of them very recent (probably still on this page). |

no.. just want to burn a game onto a cd so it will play soon as the disk is put into the drive.. like a PS2 disk. put it in and play..
some of the games I have downloaded they come as ISO files..
or BIN files..
so I open them up and then the installers show..
soi I click on the installer and it says please insert disk..
WHAT DISK?? am I suppose to burn the BIN onto a disk aswell?
but the file is over 800 mg so how can I do this?? |
