But you do know the thought police aren't deceived by this subterfuge?

There's a few threads on this already. Do a forum search for NESPOT.

Thanks, are there hotspots in Korea (places like cafes that I can take my notebook to and sit and log into someone else's wireless connection))

Yes, there are some free places scattered here and there - mostly restaurants and cafes. The one restaurant that my boss likes to go to has a free wifi network going.

Walking around with my PDA, I can get a NESPOT connection at quite a few places, but I can't use it since I don't have a NESPOT subscription, which costs money.

That about sums it up. Very few "open" (aka free) hotspots. Most Starbucks are wired via SK Telecom but you have to pay. I'm sure it's not a lot... maybe $2 an hour... but then you'll run into the language barrier and the technology barrier. Assuming you can speak Korean or find a fluent staffy, they might even be aware they have a wireless service or trained to know what to do.

I had a Korean look at the web sight and he said that if you live here it's 15,000/month. To get you can go directly to the office at Samgachi station in the KT building.

Yeah, but I believe that's if you already get your internet through KT. I could be wrong, though.
