| Hey, does anybody know of any websites that have info about the rock clubs in and around the Seoul/Itaewon area? Especially if they give dates, showtimes, and maybe even links to info about the bands. I'm not talking about internationally-touring million-dollar rock groups or anything, just local folk who've got something good going on. All the K-Pop I hear walking around Bundang during the day is starting to kill me. I need some distortion, some power chords, some microphone screeching, maybe even some instrument smashing. Any info'd be greatly appreciated. Thanks. |

Good live music in Korea is a rarity.
Keep checking in here for info. There's usually a thread or two about some live music coming up. |

| there's clubs in itaewon that often have music: J Bar, The Big Electric Cat (both located behind the Hamilton Hotel). Woodstock also has live music every night (the guitarist there is worth checking out). If you like Hard Rock, then you should see Faded (they play at least once a week). If you're into blues / rock, there's Bluefrog and Company. They play at the Cat every Wednesday, which is a blues jam (anyone is free to come and join) and the occasional weekend. If you like alternative rock with a touch of Lou Reed, then the Squids will do it for you. There's other bands out there floating around - not too hard to find them. In terms of an actual publication that lists clubs and bands, you're out of luck (at least where Itaewon's concerned). But if you just poke around, you'll find somebody playing something somewhere. |

| similarly in Hongdae there are live music clubs all over the place, Soundaholic, the Drug Club (presumably anyway, it's in the Lonely Planet although I've never found it), Aura, Ssamzie Space- they often have lists of bands outside, but what they play and where you can find it online? Mulla-yo |

I hear these guys are a bunch of over-the-hill MOR rockerz. Any truth to this? |

Ha ha! Possibly some truth but perhaps they're just around to help people have a good time in Korea and to jam to some good music.
I haven't seen them but why not give 'em a shot. |
