well i am bound to return to the states in aug 05. I have promised that I won't renew here until I come back and see one of my best friends take that ohh so scary plunge into married life--but I am getting one hell of a sweet bridesmaid dress so no complaints. Then I am toying with the idea of going to grad school and getting my MA. But so far no place seems to accept spring applicants. So I will most likely be coming back to korea.

Mostly I plan on visiting and seeing all those people who I knew to be druken idiots nine days a week, working at suit and tie jobs in some seouless environment. (pun intended) Laughing

I'm going home tomorrow.

These lists are by no means complete.

I look forward to : sleeping in my king size Ethan Allen bed. Kraft Dinner. Real beer, real smokes, English TV, English radio, English movie theaters with more choices, interesting restaurants with menu choices I understand and like and real beer, shopping without worrying about getting it home one day, Christmas season, grass, huge snowflakes drifting down on a quiet windless night, roast beef with potatoes, steak with baked potatoes with sour cream, lobster with drawn butter and king crab, escargot, driving, getting help from sales people, nobody staring, understanding what everyone is saying and doing around me, buying clothes that fit me in colours and styles I like, better, bigger DVD selections, never sitting on the floor to eat, no obsessions with footwear, no obsessions with my anatomy Shocked , generally rediscovering the joy of trees, grass, gardens everywhere, open spaces and my own culture and family.

Things I'll miss: Walking in the street. Drinking and wandering with fellow strangers in a strange land, my students, Korean friends, neon everywhere, obsessions with my anatomy Laughing , the overall experience and challenge of living and working in another culture half way around the world.

Beam me up Scotty.
