well that was my point- it's not like you're getting any love from the kitty. From all my feline contact it seems pretty clear that cats think of humans as giant feeding machines to be treated with smug contempt. If one of the little furballs ends up eating trash, I honestly couldn't care less. |

Well I can't argue if you just think they're icky... And they do kinda stink and poo.. LOL That aside, they are wonderful pets. They are smart and sociable. They'll sit on your shoulder while you walk around outside just happy to be with you... Now this doesnt go for these rats of my sons.. I worry about them  But I've seen it done often |

For those that worry that this has just happened to us, it hasn't so sleep soundly. It may well do in a year or so or more though...
It just seemed like there were a bunch of people giving others hassle about making just such a decision as in the poll and I wanted to see what others thought.
V. interestingly the vote is pretty much tied... |

I don't know about that. I had a cat when I was much younger who was really sweet and gentle. Of course she was also old and fat and that might have had something to do with it.  The cat I have now is just over 1 year old and she shows her affection in strange ways, when she isn't pouncing on my feet or clawing my sofa or trying to bite my hand as I type. She'll curl up in my lap as I'm watching TV, and she runs up to me the minute I get home, purring away.
Now, it's a good thing that cats can't read, cause I will say that if I could have the choice between a dog and a cat, and lived in an environment where I could house either, I'd choose the dog. But cats are much easier to take care of than dogs, I think, and the cat has been good to me, even if she's been, well, catty at times also. |

| Well, I didn't vote because the question makes zero sense. Finding a home for the cat, adopting him or her, and even giving the cat to a shelter are all better choices. |

It makes perfect sense because it is the exact dilemma many of us are faced with in Korea. You would actually vote for option 2 because you talk about finding a home and adopting. If you do these, you will be faced with option two at some point unless you give the cat to a shelter (even?) because very very few people at least on this forum are willing to take the cat off your hands even when you're faced with no other option. Take a look at the BST forum on here and you'll see that's the case. |
