I went to it.. My boss told me it was mandatory or we would be fired.. it was the most wasteful 3 hours of my life but oh well i can't really demand my 800 won subway fare back.. it was a bit humourous in some parts.. the Immigration presentation was REALLY dry.. i was really falling asleep during that portion... we were told it was for all teachers in Mokdong area which was untrue of course so i don't think our boss even knew what it was about.. |

| Was this just something for hagwon teachers? I worked at hagwons for 3 years, never even heard of such a meeting. I guess no public school teachers needed to go. What was the meeting about anyway? |

Dude, I just went to it this morning. I'm gonna be real pissed if I had to drag my sorry butt out of bed at 8 o'clock this morning for a mandatory meeting if it was just a rumor... I'll definitely have to ask my supervisor on Monday... |
I never went and never was told about it. If it was mandatory why wasn't I told about it? And I have never heard of it. Sure that they just weren't pulling your chain and trying to get some free work or show off your white face or something like that? And yes I do work in a hakwon so if it was mandatory sounds a little strange that I wasn't told about it. |

| Better watch out, Urban Myth. People get "disappeared" for what you did. Or rather, didn't do. See Shawner's post. |

I've been working at hagwons for over seven years and this is the first I've heard of it. But, I know better than to believe what I read here! |

| Apparently there are only 360 waeguk hagwon teachers in Seoul! |
