For some reason when I use Firefox to access Gmail I get a message that it can't find a certain file, and the log on gets stuck on loading.
Also when I try to get onto Dave's main page I can't. It says it can't find a file.
I can do everything normal with Internet Explorer. |

Not to sound condescending or anything, but I think the solution to this would be to not use Firefox.

PS. Sorry, just had to say that! no idea why it's happening to ya or how to fix it. Good luck. |

I had similar problems a while ago, and I can't remember how I fixed it, but this is what I got from the gmail help site:
| Quote: |
| Various third-party firewall, pop-up blocking and ad blocking software, and browser plug-ins can interfere with your use of Gmail. The Gmail Team is working to solve these problems. In the meantime, we suggest adding 'gmail.google.com' as an exception to any ad blocking, script blocking, or pop-up blocking rules. If that doesn't help, we recommend disabling the software, clearing your cache*, and logging in to Gmail again. |
Firefox has a popup blocker built in, so try putting in the site as an exception there ( from firefox: Tools--> Options-->Web Features) |

Are you using Firefox version 1? If not, download the new release and try it.
Also, what firewall stuff are you using?
Check out this page in Gmail's help

Clear your cache and your cookies in Firefox and try logging in again.
Try gmail with this url
https://gmail.google.com
Just some suggs.
FWIW kprrok, Firefox is unlikely to be the issue. I have been using Firefox with Gmail for months and months with no problems at all. I'm willing to bet it is related to some security software running on the computer. The reason it works with IE is because IE is a security nightmare and does whatever the heck you (and third parties) want. The fact that it doesn't work with Firefox shows that Firefox is a more secure browser. For those of you not used to having to deal with heightened security on your computer, issues like the OP is having can be frustrating. They are the price you pay for peace of mind and they can be solved by simply being aware of and adjusting some settings. |
