I was wondering how many native speakers officially teach english in Korea, and how many unofficially.
Are there any numbers as to how many officially teach at hagwons, high schools and universities?
I was wonderingmyself, and my g/f asked, and I found I couldn;t even estimate an answer. It intrigued me.

I posted earlier this year, 8 months ago, after reading in the paper that there were over 10,000 E2 holders in Korea. Certainly there are other visas for legal teaching too - I think it's F2 or F4 for "kyopos."

Now how many are working illegally? Anyone's guess! A lot of Canadians no doubt, with that 6 months automatic on arrival.

Put "10,600" in the search and you'll find that thread.
