|
|
Has anybody else had problems with their local drycleaners? I took some wool pants and sweaters into the cleaners the other day. They came back stinking like napalm. So I rinsed them out and took them to another cleaners. Came back smelling like kerosene. Rinse and repeat. 3 places, same problem.
This is my second year in Korea. I went to another cleaners last year and never had any problems. Did something change while I was gone? I usually just stroll in and say "drycleanuh" and it always worked in the past. Am I asking for the wrong service? I asked my friends and coworkers and no one can help me out.

Once some new guy at the place did the most hideous job of sewing on an oversized collar button. I had given him the original button.
I thought the shirt was ruined, but the owner fixed it. It was so horrible... a criss-cross thread pattern in plain view all around the button.... couldn't believe it. |

My clothes smell a bit like kerosene sometimes too, but the smell wears off in aboout an hour.
Actually I used to have a host of great dry cleaners too, but where I'm living right now they all kind of suck. Great people, but a tendency to close early, open late, takes them forever to find my clothes... oh well. Moving again soon -- we'll see what the next place brings! |

I tried wearing one of the sweaters but it gave me the hives of the apocolypse. |

That's frigging ace! When my brother and his girlfriend came over here in the spring one of the things they couldn't get over was clubs with free packs of cigs on the bar, or places where they bring you a few with your round of drinks. |

Yeah. Makes a big difference with smokes in Korea costing 1 pounds as opposed to 5 pounds!!! |

I have an awesome suede coat with long fur trim on the collar and cuffs. I need to get it cleaned. Can I trust the dry cleaners with it or will they ruin it? I love this coat and I don't want anything to happen to it. |

I'm guessing that your drycleaner isn't using kerosene on you clothes!!!
Then again, maybe he is usig kerosene and this is just a smoke fog, making you think that he is being kind while he is actually trying to incinerate you. |
