It's not unusual for a school, like a public middle school, to ask that it's employees be at work all day. It is not very common in the hog won industry.

Hi I usually go in for my first class (today it is 9:30) at 9:50 work till noon, lunch at the school where I ususally do some prep or extra work and then teach from 2-8. All together I usually am there for about 10-11 hours a day.

No one asks me to do it, and I am happy and wouldn't have it any other way.

Problem is that as a glorified piano teacher often my work does not net me the satisfaction that a normal school would. I mean I make cool homework assignmnets to see them untried in the kids' bags three days later.

Sadly, I can not work any other way, that is just me. So I go in and work more than my contract demands but I have always believed in giving more work than required for minimum wage gets minimum effort. Clearly we are NOT making minimum wage (do they have one here?) so I should give a higher effort.

I will now take an ax to my soapbox.

Thank-you.
