I'll readily admit I am a statistics nerd...was looking through this great statistics site when I spotted the rankings (1st, 2nd, 3rd best in XYZ, etc) - and South Korea's stats were mostly concerning being number one in MORTALITY! I compared my own country too (NZ) and there were plenty of mortality stats, but mixed in with lots of others...the US had a HUGE list of being number one in many health problems...check them out:

Would it be a correct assumption to say that countries like the USA, with high numbers of results, perhaps have a better infrastructure for reporting such issues?

Also, being a rich country, there are more chances to have problems with things like Personal Watercraft, which was listed, among the many other things.

After all, Koreans often reports many deaths due to "fan death." Imagine how lesser-developed countries report deaths, if at all?
