Men go to the army and women gain employment experience? Who are you kidding? Women never get hired for anything except low paying arbeit jobs and low position jobs. The career path is reserved for the man. At least in the West you have healthy competition. Here, well women arent even allowed to step up to the plate, much less compete.

They can be whatever they want, but not on equal terms to men. It is sad to see young female teachers (not office staff) at my public school job serving coffee and tea to men just because they are men. |

I'm no classical scholar, but I think it's generally agreed that ancient Greece was not exactly a paradise for women. |

| Not exactly a paradise for men either: wars and universal slavery. But the feminists didn't tell you that, did they? |

But you know, the men went to the ARMY. OOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHH. I guess now they can just sit on their lazy asses and demand to be served. Wow, that Korean army, what a 2.5 years in absolute hell. I guess that excuses the wife beaters too. They went to the ARMY! All that stress, who can they unload it on? |

What I meant was that women had less rights than men. Obviously, ancient Greek society as a whole was pretty miserable compared to today. |

You gyus are unbelievable. Who told you that? Feminists back home? Women could stay at home and raise children while men were at war or slaving away. Who had more rights??? What would you choose? |

Why do you hate men, your ancestors, and yourself? They don't sit on their lazy asses, they work 50-hour weeks you c u n t. They don't semand to be served, they give their salsry to their wives who control the finance. Who's exploiting who? |
I know how they work. I also "work" 8 hours a day. Teachers dont work all that hard my confused little friend. And OTOH was talking about teachers. Wanna know what the male teachers are doing right now? Drinking coffee and playing games. Oh yes. HAAAAAAAAAAARD work.
Men demand to be served pretty much everywhere.
Does their work week also excuse the spousal abuse, drunkenness and unfaithfulness? Tell us, oh you manly man. |

Other questions follow. What is it discriminatory to call a woman ajumma (the Korean word for 'aunt')? "Men have to spend all day at the office, and then when they come home, must they also play with the kids, too?" Dont women have enough already? They are the ones who control the money, and we men are the ones always being scolded.
Hmmm, who's serving who? |

Just as a polite point of clarification, DW, I don't think there was a point on this thread where I was specifically referring to teachers. |

Err, did you identify it as being from the ChosunIlbo? Because that would seem to be a pre-req for ridiculing someone who didn't know it was from the ChosunIlbo. |

Last I heard, both of the major political parties, Uri and GNP, were in favour of scrapping the hoju. And I'd assume that Democratic Labour and the MDP are also on board for that one. So I don't know where you're getting the idea that there's this huge wave of pro-hoju support out there. Wouldn't at least one of the parties be catering to it?

Well, Im sure that there are a few million die hard red neck chauvinists out there. There are 48million people in this country. You will find support just for about anything in such a large country.
The hoju system is on its way out. Pretty much all the parties are on board. It isnt going to last long.
What will sonja do when its done away with? |
