It's been ten years since I've been in the states on December 25, but I haven't celebrated Christmas with my family in 36 years. Of course, that's because we never celebrated Christmas, so I'm not missing anything.

Happy Kwanzaa!

I've missed 3.

Spent two in Korea and one in Japan.

I was a bit mellow in the morning but an aftrnoon of soju and other associated activities shelved any homesickness. Smile

This was my second year in Korea during Christmas. But I missed one when I moved down to the states back when I was in my mid-twenties as well.

I haven't really missed not being with family much. As far as turkey dinner goes -- I was invited this year to a foreigner's party and he made a turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy and broccoli...HE HAS AN OVEN!!! That is absolutely next on my list of things I am going to buy! The turkey dinner was absolutely marvelous, and the turkey he bought from Costco for 30,000 Won. All in all, it was one of the nicests Christmas days I've had in a long time.
