Was transfering from line 7 to 6 last night and found some awesome sweaters for sale for oh chun won. I picked up 3 wool ones that were made in Ireland. One is a comfy cartegan. What a deal!! Anyone else go by this little store? |

Something still made in Ireland?!!
My take on prices in Korea. You simply have to see the item with your own eyes and touch it with your own hands to gauge if its worth the price, if it's not worth the price, or, if you're getting a complete bargain!! |

are you for real? a sweater's a sweater. if it's five bucks, doesn't fall apart, and makes you look like a champ, then where's the shame? i don't understand. |

I've been wearing the thick wool cartigan sweater all day. It's very warm and comfy! It's basically an Aran Islands sweater. Not sure if it is legit, but I really could not tell the difference to be honest with you (and I own one genuine article to boot!) |

Sounds good to me. Gonna have a look at the subway map later. It's where line 7 meets line 6? (hopefully the deal will still be there for a few more days?)
Me cold, poor, and currently sweaterless! |

there's a dude in myeongdong who has a big sweater-cart. he usually has brand-name stuff, i got a gap sweater there, 100% wool, warm as the dickens. all his stuff is high-quality, and it's only W8000.
go into the main shopping area, and he's usually in the block just down from starbucks. it's just a giant cart full of sweaters. it rules, but i couldn't find him last sunday.
edit - THE SWEAR FILTER BEEPED OUT 'D I C K E N S'. who programmed this crap? "we simply cannot have any discussion of 'hard times' and 'bleak house' on this board, it'll hurt too many peoples' feelings!!!" |

IguanaBoxTurtle mentioned the same thing - 3 sweaters for 15k. Not sure where it was.
It is entirely possible that they are 2nd-hand, but just in good shape.
I'm with the bargainers - if it looks good on you, and you get your money's worth, good on ya.
I know there are people who just shudder at the thought, but I ain't one of those . . .
regards,
G. |

If you don't like it merely because it is cheap, maybe you can find the same thing for more elsewhere. I have heard some retailers buy clothes in NamDaeMun market, and sell them for more in their own shops.
(Ah, the vanity. That $10 shirt is no good, but this $50 one is cool, even though it is the same shirt.) |
