Got a Costco card? Was in the store yesterday, & see they have 8-can packs for 23,000 won.
I prefer bottles, but that is the cheapest I have ever legitimately seen it in the RoK.
Regards,
G. |

Woohoo!!!
That gets it down to only 75% more expensive than home.
I was at Costco yesterday and missed it. Man, Costco is becoming unbearable!! I only have time to go on Sundays and the crowds are becoming out of control.
Yesterday in Costco I saw two trolly-right-of-way fights!!! |

Christina has offered to host a FREE 'shopping etiquette' course for Costco staff & patrons. it is getting bad. Also, now Costco is offering a small business CREDIT CARD.
Man, we just thought it was bad before.
Hey, Eammon, did you get some of the Bratwurst, as well? I'll take that over a Korean 'white sausage-ee' any day . . .
Aussie ribeye on sale, as well . . .

I'm a bit broke at the moment so expensive things that end in -wurst or -strami are out!!!
I stick to the cheap Australian beef, American Chedder, chicken bosoms (6000won for a kilo!!!), Columbian coffee (3lb's for 8000won!).
Costco are a bit sneaky though. Some things are definitely cheap but a lot of stuff there is pricy. Yet, people tend to throw stuff in their carts thinking it's all cheap. Next thing you know you're handing over 250,000won at the checkout
Next time I'm bringing a cattle-prod to attach to the front of my cart!! That should clear the more stubborn ajumma's! |

I wonder how difficult/easy that would be to be a Guiness Exporter to Korea. |

I'm guessing that Korean protectionist policies would make it difficult. American beers can be fairly cheap in Korea but unless a country has a cosy trade agreement with korea all imported stuff is expensive by the time it gets to the consumer.
Although, I think if Guinness (remember Tiger, 2 n's and 2 s's!) was aggressively marketed Koreans would go for it. They would totally swallow the myth that "Guinness is good for you". They love any kind of health potion here.
In fact, if Guinness was marketed as a drink to increase "stamina" you would be a millionaire in 6 months!! |

TB ~ back-trace your avatar, and import some of that. Seriously lacking here!!!
G.
We have noticed the pricing thing as well. C picked up some Elizabeth Arden something-or-other 2 weeks ago - 2 jars for 14k, which she was sure was a mismark. Went to buy a whole bunch more of it yesterday, only to find the same package is now 39k.
Also, notice how they still have pumpkin pie, but no more carrot cake . . .wtf?!?! Meeza so sad now.
