In my Mom's house, I have to wear them out of self-preservation! Everyone else wears them, and if I take mine off, my socks get wet from all of the tracked-in snow and rain! When I had my own place, I always took them off.

If I ever tried to wear shoes in the house, she would cut off my feet. Hell, the dogs have to have paw baths every time they go outside. Rolling Eyes

I wear my shoes in the house, to save myself from picking up god knows how many foot fungi and other nasty things from the dirty floors of my abode. This is a product of living in a house with 6 other men.

But I hate it and in more clean environments, I take off my shoes when possible.

In summmer, I sometimes wander in with sandals, but in winter, I always, always take my boots off.

Meh, shoes on or of I do both (well back home anyway). At my parents house if your shoes are wet and muddy take them off at the door, if not who cares take them off leave them on listen to your feet they will guide you. Though with the advent of wood floors in a couple of rooms going shoeless to increase "ice-skating" ability has been noted. In my own places, same rules apply. And as for dirty floors, you just sweep and vacuum, sheesh people what do you think you are walking in....
