Ok this is not about my pride- it's about teaching men and women in the "Way of the Toad."
I have collected piles of pictures of myself patting cute little kids and hugging enthralled college girls. I got some nature stuff too. And as you know I am nothing if not a font of wisdom err boredom. So I have decided to start a blog- the problem is I hate the software that you put pictures on- I tried picsa and it was to hard to figure out and would not link- I was doing picsa with blogspot or was it blogger I forgot anyhow - I had it going and my stuff entered but the pictures would not link so in the end I deleted the little I'd written. So ah I want one that you guys found worked a free picture and blog site or a combo of two that work.
This is vital for my pride - how are unknown ESLER New Zealand big shouldered skin dive MTB chicks gonna find out about me if I don't have a blogspot which I can link to all their favorite sites? I need to get one that is not blocked in Korea too otherwise I won't be able to let my K buddies see it.
Any suggestions are welcome- Korea needs to know about ME!

I'd probably reccomend Live Journal for the blog part although there are other equally good (some would say better) blogging sites which are all free of charge. You can for a fee host your pictures with with Livejournal which is pretty straight forward, or so I'm told, and will be as easy as possible.
There are however better (cheaper) options for the pictures depending on your technical abilities, my preferred method is to use a file hosting site (mine comes as part of my outlook server site but just google for file hosting) then insert the pictures using a <img> link in the html.
You *could* set up your own FTP server on your own machine which will avoid any storage problems but would mean if your computer is not online then your pictures would dissappear so is probably not ideal.
If you know of a service that provides the features you want that is blocked (I believe angelfire may still be) then use a proxy server, see here for a guide to configuring one.
I hope this helps you though to be honest I would be quite surprised if you find a good image host that doesn't charge you at least something as in my experience all free image hosts either suffer from poor bandwidth or delete files randomly. You might try posting on the technology forum too.

Thanks Easter bunny! (bock bock!) I'll have to start building my blog soon...though your advice on free picture sites is a bit discouraging maybe I should buy a website from yahoo for around twenty bucks a month.
errr - waygooke-I garner the attention of whole entire classes by the deft movement of my great fat mouth. I like to be on the soap stand and pontificate even if students ask me to speak slow- I feel immense importance when students repeat a difficult word I blabber without the slightest slobber. Also my mother always told me I was handsome, and all my students agree- I owe the world to show them my greatness- what more fitting place then the WWW?

or you can blog behind a proxy server.

you can get to blogger from korea, but blogspot - the hosting site - is blocked. so, the hotties in NZ can see it, but you can't unless you go behind a proxy.

go to www.proxy4free.com, find a working proxy.

go to "tools" - "internet options" "connections" "LAN settings" and then click "use a proxy server" and then enter the IP address of that proxy.

it can take a couple of tries, but it eventually works.

I'm not sure I understood this, either. I have a semi-defunct blog at blogger that I abandoned and moved over to blog-cities last summer when Korea was blocking so many of them. Blogger'Blogspot, Typepad and LiveJournal were the main ones being blocked back then, but all have been liberated in the months since - if any sites are still blocked now I'm not aware of it.

Photobucket has been doing okay by me, though some people don't like the way they recently started charging for a some features that used to be free. Also, their software automatically reduces the size of the pictures - sometimes you want that, and sometimes you don't.

Some friends are using cyworld accounts are alternative blogs - you can put a lot of text in the description boxes for each picture, or so it appears.

At the moment - for the past day or so - blog-cities has been glitzy on me, so I'm thinking of going back to blogspot.

There is a good blog deal on www.navmonkey.net

$30 a year for 100 meg storage and a bandwidth of 2GB /month.

E-mail accounts too.

blogspot is blocked. or at least it was blocked when all that kim sun-il hoofaraw happened. my blog used to be there - i decided to move it to a friend's server. i'm unable to go visit my friends' blogs that are hosted on blogspot, but i'm able to go to www.blogger.com to access and update my blog.

is that what you were shocked about?

Or you could sit around on a Saturday afternoon and figure out how to make database-driven sites on Dreamweaver MX 2004 and program your own blog and picture set-up.
