hi guys
i posted a similar thread a couple of weeeks ago. I have been trying to track down various ingredients to do some cooking. anybody out there find a shop which sells a variety of non korean spices e.g. cumin, fresh lemon grass, olives (not deseeded), cooking chocolate, couscous, pappadams, lentils, borlotti beans, basil (better than the overprices wilted tiny packages you get at Emart etc. scoured half the shops in seoul without much sucess so far. thanks. |

Try the Indian/Pakistani grocery just opposite 3 Alleys in Itaewon. They have a lot of stuff you list - maybe all - and they even have Basmati Rice. |

What the indian grocery doesn't have, Hanam Supermarket might. It's around the corner from Hangangjin station, in the basement of the Volvo building. |

Where can I get hummus? I made it once, and it was pretty good, but I don't have a blender anymore. I absolutely love the stuff. They don't have it at Hannam Market. |

There's a deli that sells humus at coex but I can't remember the name of the place- just that it's in one of the little halls leading to the air terminal. |

I can get chickpeas at Hannam Market. I want the already made stuff. I guess next time I go to Coex I'll have to look around for that store. Thanks, dude. |

You can find most of these items at a foreign import near Hooker Hill. Just make a right before you climb the last block on Hooker Hill. There is a grocery store operated by an Indian. It sells lentils, tempeh, chick peas, canned beans, ghee, insense, and many hard to find spices. If you can't find it in this grocery store just continue walking toward the mosque. There are at least two shops that carry the other items. The Indian store that I mentioned earlier, however, is much cheaper. |
