What do you think my chances are of getting a decent job if I brought my six year old daughter with me and requested that I only teach young students at a school my daughter could attend during the day (no split shifts). Am I nuts? |

I hope your 6 year old is fluent in Korean.
My guess is that you'll probably need to find a school for them.
I'm not sure how the Korean public school system is set up to educate foreigners but be prepared to spend an arm and a leg in a private school if you find an opening somewhere.
Unless you plan on homeschooling your youngster, think of the pressure your child will be under in the Korean school system to learn a new language and adapt.
Might be a life-changing challenge for them.

This is the same pressure that immigrant children face in Canada/USA/Australia. I know of kids here who have gone to Korean schools and done well, very popular and good language skills. But I do know of one that couldn't hack it. You will need to decide if your kid has the backbone to handle the stress and the right kind of personality.
I think you should send sillywilly a pm. She brought her 5 year old son. |

There are expat and returning schools in Korea that offer a courseload completely in English. Getting an English education wouldn't be that big of an issue.
However, having the child attending the same school as where the mother works is exceptionally unlikely as such schools only hire people with teaching degrees as a rule, and the mother will probably be working at an English acadamy away from their child. |
