Hi,
Last year I applied for a job at the Toronto English Academy but decided on another job instead. I was just wondering if anyone has had an experience, good or bad, with this school...or heard froma reputable source of someone who did? They have a posting on Dave's job board. I just don't know if I'll be ready to make the big move again so soon. The job starts in July. Hmmmmmmm!!!
Grumpy Turtle, (AKA...Kate in Canada), not to be confused with kateinkorea who really isn't there, yet. ;-) |

I was compiling a massive list of good/bad comments about schools in Busan, and I remember hearing something negative about the Toronto school there.
Don't recall who said it, nor exactly what they said..... but you've been warned.
When I get ADSL on my laptop, I'll look to see if I saved the comment, and if so, I'll post it on here. |

To Kate in Canada:
People tend to believe the things they read more readily than what they hear. I was a teacher at Toronto English Academy for a year and a half, and I basically had no problems with anything. It's a smaller school with reduced class sizes, so it's not total pandemonium. I'm still in touch with them, and until recently, the posting that Pusan Icon's supporter is referring to was deleted due to its being total rubbish--beesides, anyone referring to their city of employment as 'armpit of the south' has to be taken with a few pounds of salt.
Check out the 'mother of all greylists' for a more balanced view on certain schools in Korea. I agree with the moderator or that particular list on what does and doesn't constitute a genuine complaint in this country.
Feel free to email me if you have any other questions about the school. Also feel free to email them to check out my veracity.
cheers,
