I have heard from some people that it is Japanese, others that it is Korean...

Which is it?

They're in both places. I think the guy was living in Korea when he created Lotteria, but is half Japanese. Maybe. I'm too tired to Google now.

but the owner of LOTTE lives in JAPAN..
but he is korean..

also pocari sweat is JAPANESE incase you didint know..

That's the one thing I found funny in Lost Memories. Instead of Chilsung Cider machines all over the place, they were Pocari Sweat machines.

The owner of LOTTE is ethnic Japanese-Korean.

Actually, the founder of LOTTE is Korean-Japanese. He is an ethnic Korean born and living in Japan. I don't know if he ever got Japanese citizenship, since it is difficult for ethnic Koreans to get Japanese citizenship, especially in the 60's. I believe the founder's parents either immigrated to Japan or were forced there. They eventually ended up in Sapporo.

Just a heads up on Lotteria.

in Japan also it tastes like CRAP.

I went to one in Osaka and said kimchi burger please Wink
The poor girl looked at me and I said, this is Lotteria, right??
Well i want my KIMCHI BURGER!!!!!!

I settled on a teri burger. Still tastes like crap.

MOS BURGER chain in japan is OK.


BTW...ampm is also Japanese.

Family Mart is frigging everywhere isn't it!!!

The owner is Korean and only korean.. he has been persuaded many times to change his nationality to Japanese but he always refused!
his wife is japanese.. so his children are japanese citizens (half korean/half japanese blood) with full japanese citizenship!
